The Stratford Stingers’ 14U
team won a silver medal on Saturday at the 15U OVA Trillium tournament. The Stingers lost an exciting back and forth
gold medal match versus a scrappy Cambridge Scorpions team in three sets.
Heidi Thomas, Ashlyn Witt, Autumn Mikel and Kiara Michiels did a fantastic job setting the ball all day. Ava McMillan, Ella Farrell, Mia McCabe and Kylie Jones had big hits and did a good job controlling play at the net. Ella Van Bakel, Sophie Thomas and Lauren McKay worked hard at keeping the ball off the floor and kept the other teams at bay with tough serves. Emily Hall cheered on the team while recovering from an injury.The 14U Stingers will be back in action on their home court at the Agriplex as they host the 14U OVA Challenge Cup on Saturday, January 11, 2020.
