14U McGregor Cup - Championship Division
The 14U Stingers faced their first Championship Division competition at the McGregor Cup in Kitchener on Jan 28th, 2017. The Stingers placed second in their pool winning a well played match against Sarnia Twin Bridges Thunder Storm and losing to a very skilled KW Preds Synergy. This placement led to a match against the first place team in pool C - Hamilton Smash in the quarter finals. The Stingers played their best match of the day beating Hamilton 2 sets to 1 advancing them to the semifinals where they lost to London Sharks Great Whites. In the Bronze medal game the Stingers played a very strong second set but were inched out again by the KW Preds Synergy ending the day with a well earned 4th place. Well done Stingers!!
