SVC COVID-19 Precautions for the 2020-2021 Season
Attention all SVC athletes, parents, coaches, executive, and volunteers. The Volleyball Club will again be implementing precautions this year to reduce the potential for spread of COVID-19. Similar to last season, all participants will need to be physically distanced and masked except while engaging in on court volleyball activities. Participants will not be permitted to enter the field house until the team on the court prior has vacated the court. All participants should have hand sanitizer, a mask, a personal water bottle and a bag for personal items. Equipment will be cleaned between practices.

After discussion with the city, the club will not allow parents as spectators during tryouts except under exceptional circumstances. At some point after tryouts we do hope to allow some spectators and we will circulate this information later. All participants need to complete a daily health check/screen before entering the field house.

The Club executive asks that all age eligible participants be fully vaccinated to enhance our current infection control protocols. Eligible individuals who are not vaccinated and do not intend to be vaccinated within the next few weeks are asked to refrain from participating in SVC activities this year. Despite all these precautions every potential participant needs to understand that there still may be some risk related to COVID-19 and each family will need to make their own decision regarding the risk they wish to assume by participating this season.

Despite all these precautions every potential participant needs to understand that there still may be some risk related to COVID-19 and each family will need to make their own decision regarding the risk they wish to assume by participating this season. Please understand that these precautions reflect the provincial Step 3 Guidelines for reopening as well as the City of Stratford Facility COVID-19 Regulations. We expect these restrictions to change numerous times throughout the season and our hope is that many of these restrictions will be relaxed as the season progresses.
