SVC Awards Banquet - May 21st, 2019

The Stratford Volleyball Club held it’s annual AGM meeting and Banquet on May 21st, 2019.  About 170 athletes, coaches, and parents were treated to a delicious meal provided by L&M Catering and Dairy Queen.

All in attendance were entertained by a slide show of SVC photos and music created by Eric McCabe.  Canadian volleyball icon, Kristine Drakich then spoke.  Her message focused on the importance of attitude and effort and how these qualities are so important in determining our success both in sport and in life.  Ability and skill can be taught but attitude and effort is what many coaches(and employers) are looking for when recruiting and hiring.  Kristine went on to give examples of what a good attitude and effort looks like on the court.  It was an inspirational message that was well received by all.  This year the Stratford Volleyball Club MVP awards were presented to Jason Guy and Emily McFadden.  Congratulations Jason and Emily!  Thanks also to Sheri Gilhula for organizing the evening.
