13U STINGERS WIN GOLD!
Submitted By ngroenestege on Tuesday, February 12, 2019
The 13U Stratford Stingers volleyball team went undefeated and won the gold medal last weekend while hosting the tournament at the Agriplex. The Stingers beat a feisty Chatham Ballhawks team in the final in three sets to secure the win.

In pool play, Ellisa Mann, Ashlyn Witt, Kylie Jones and Sophie Thomas served well and played great defense to put the Stingers in first heading into the playoffs. The first playoff match was against London Forest City. Kiara Michiels, Lauren McKay, and Ava McMillan passed well and ran the offence to perfection. The second match put the Stingers against Twin Bridges Thunderstorm from Sarnia. Autumn Mikel and Heidi Thomas put away kills to lead the way for a win. In the finals, Ella Van Bakel and Mia McCabe, and Julia Mann had some great digs and blocks to finish out the Ballhawks to win the championship.
